Max. Adult Length: 2.7m (Typically 1.7 – 2m)

The distinctive “hourglass” pattern of yellow ochre on the forward flanks and pale grey towards the tail stock is diagnostic, as is the meeting point of the grey cape with the white belly below the dorsal fin. Smaller and more slender than many species, with a dark curved dorsal fin, sometimes with a grey or white centre and a long slender beak.
